How to Test the Temperature Safely

After warming, test the bottle before offering it to your baby. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends the wrist test: shake a few drops onto the inside of your wrist. The milk should feel neutral or comfortably warm — not hot. If it feels hot, let it cool for a minute and shake the bottle again to distribute heat evenly.
